Morgan Stanley (MS), Goldman Sachs (GS), Bear Stearns (BSC) and Lehman Brothers (LEH) CEO Bonuses
Investment bank Morgan Stanley's (MS.N: Quote, Profile , Research) Chief Executive John Mack has been awarded a bonus worth about $40 million in stock and options for 2006, according to a regulatory filing on Thursday. However, Mack's compensation is likely to be topped by one or more of his rivals, according to a report published on Friday on The Wall Street Journal's Web site. The paper said that Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (GS.N: Quote, Profile , Research) Chief Executive Lloyd Blankfein's compensation will exceed $50 million, citing a person familiar with the matter. The paper said that is believed to be a record for big-firm chief executives. Analysts say they expect a handful of other CEOs could make $40 million to $50 million or higher, including James Cayne of Bear Stearns Cos. (BSC.N: Quote, Profile , Research), Stan O'Neal of Merrill Lynch & Co. and Richard Fuld of Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. (LEH.N: Quote, Profile , Research), the WSJ reported.
