Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (WMT) to Stop Issuing Guidance
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. will no longer provide sales estimates for each retail period on the Saturday after the end of the period, the company said Monday in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
The retailer said it will still provide the figures on the Thursday after the end of the retail period.
On Saturday, Wal-Mart reported its same-store sales -- or sales at stores open at least a year -- rose an estimated 2.2 percent in January.
