Apple Inc. (AAPL) Shares Climb 3 Percent
Shares of Apple Inc. climbed Thursday on an otherwise down day for much of the broader market, after an analyst upgraded the stock and made gushing comments about the company's upcoming iPhone.
The computer and iPod maker -- which recently dropped the word "computer" from its name to reflect a shift toward consumer electronics -- saw its shares add $2.79, or 3.3 percent, to $87.40 in early afternoon trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market. In the past year, the stock has traded between $50.16 and $97.80.
