AT&T Prepares For Apple Inc.'s (AAPL) iPhone
AT&T will temporarily close its company-owned stores between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. Friday to prepare for sales of the new Apple iPhone.
AT&T stores will start selling the phones at 6 p.m. local time Friday at its 1,800 company-owned stores throughout the country., including 43 stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
The San Antonio-based company announced last week that it had hired 2,000 extra temporary workers for its iPhone launch. It wasn't immediately known Thursday how many of the workers were hired in Dallas-Fort Worth, which has about 13,000 employees, including retail and nonretail workers.
