    Monsanto to boost dividend by 40%
    (9:19 AM ET) CHICAGO (MarketWatch) -- Monsanto Co. said Tuesday that it will boost the quarterly dividend on its shares by 40% to 17.5 cents per share. The new dividend, payable on Oct. 26 to holders of record as of Oct. 5, "represents the largest increase of our quarterly dividend in Monsanto's history as a company completely focused on agriculture," said Terry Crews, the company's chief financial officer, in the announcement.
