Juniper Networks Inc. (JNPR) Reports 46 Percent Increase in Profit
Juniper Networks Inc. posted a 46 percent increase in net income to $85.1 million, or 15 cents a share.
The Sunnyvale maker of high performance networking equipment (NASDAQ:JNPR - News) said its net revenue rose by about 28 percent to $735 million.
Excluding certain items, Juniper posted earnings of 22 cents a share.
A survey of analysts by Thomson Financial had an average projection of a 21-cents-a-share profit on revenue of $710 million. Net income was projected at 16 cents a share.
Juniper Chief Financial Officer Robyn Denholm told analysts in a conference call after the earnings were released that the company is raising its profit and sales outlook.
Juniper expects earnings, excluding certain items, for the fourth quarter of 24 cents a share, in line with analysts' expectations. But revenue is now projected to be between $770 million and $790 million, above analysts' expectations of $755 million.
For the full year, Denholm said the company expects earnings between 84 cents and 85 cents a share, and revenue between $2.79 billion and $2.81 billion. Analysts were projecting full-year earnings of 83 cents a share on $2.76 billion in revenue.
