CNBC's Stop Trading Dec. 20th

Irrigation equipment maker Lindsay (LNN) is a name to watch, Jim Cramer said on CNBC's "Stop Trading!" segment Thursday. The company's rise today is an illustration of a broader bull run in agriculture. "We are now so knee-deep in ag that even the sprinkler systems are making a lot of money," he said. "There is clear sailing for this area right into the end of the year. Agrium (AGU) just did a big secondary; it's now above the secondary price. ... This is the area."Investors should also remember names like Potash (POT), "This is a longer cycle than you think because there are such short harvests. ... Grain demand is great."On the other hand, investors need to be more cautiously optimistic with more discretionary businesses, including Winnebago (WGO).

Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) and eBay Inc. (EBAY) Sink on Weak Sales

Shares of online retailer Amazon.com Inc. and auctioneer eBay Inc. declined Friday after a Bear Stearns analyst said new data indicates holiday Internet sales are being hurt by a consumer pullback.
Amazon shares declined $2.08, or 2.3 percent, to $90.32, while eBay shed $1.34, or 3.9 percent, to $32.75 in afternoon trading.
In a note to clients, Bear Stearns analyst Robert S. Peck said a conversation with the head of online data analysis company comScore Inc. indicated concerns about oil, housing and the stock market are impacting consumer spending this holiday season.
"Many consumers are actively pursuing bargains and may be waiting for further promotions," he wrote.
Peck said comScore data indicates dollars spent per buyer have fallen 12 percent year over year, and consumers in lower income brackets have reined in spending more than others.
The analyst said, however, that spending growth has sped up almost 20 percent in recent weeks, and he thinks it will continue in the next few weeks.

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Stock Recap Dec. 13th

Capital One Financial (COF), American International Group (AIG), CIT (CIT) Cramer said AIG and COF are not transparent enough to own, because no one is sure about their assets and liabilities. While a bigger interest rate cut might have saved these companies, Cramer said after the Fed's small cut, the two companies look "too darn bad" to hold. While he did like both of these companies at one time, unlike CIT which makes all pertinent information known to investors, COF and AIG have closed books. In addition, COF recently commented on rising delinquency with credit cards, wasted its capital buying back stock at a high price and has "virtually no yield support." While AIG insists it is not being affected by bad loans, it is not providing evidence to support this claim, and Cramer says its yield is insufficient.
CEO Interview: James Hackett Anadarko Petroleum (APC)
"I believe 2008 is going to be the year for natural gas," Cramer said. "It's leaner, meaner and cleaner than coal." APC is a Cramer's natural gas growth pick, since it has raised its production guidance and is actively drilling. Cramer asked James Hackett why the presidential candidates weren't discussing natural gas, and Hackett replied the fuel is unjustly overlooked. Hackett added the company is drilling ambitiously and has made acquisitions to facilitate working overseas. While it is a challenge to drill in the Gulf of Mexico because of federal regulations, Hackett said people who manage to drill in the region should be encouraged. Cramer called Hackett a "hero" who is "making you money."
Mercadolibre (MELI)
Cramer says MELI which processes e-commerce transactions and is based in Latin America has a similar story to Google and Baidu and will continue to run. While he would usually suggest waiting for a pullback, Cramer wouldn't wait too long to buy MELI

Jim Cramer's Stop Trading Dec. 13th

Stay away from the financials, Jim Cramer said on CNBC's "Stop Trading""segment Thursday.
"I think it's just too dangerous to recommend a lot of financial stocks. ... Some of these don't have a bottom," Cramer said. When he was working for his hedge fund in the 1990s, another grim time for banks, "a lot of money was made shorting financials."
Regarding the Fed's creation of a term auction facility yesterday, Cramer said, "I can't stop looking at the stocks. The stocks are not lying." Cramer believes that if the Fed's plan were working, financial stocks would be rising.
People who believe the Fed plan may be sufficient aren't seeing the broader picture, Cramer believes. "The guys who are focused on Libor and three-month rates ... they're just falling for the same logic that the Fed is. ... I love them for their specificity," but Cramer believes that the Fed hasn't done enough.
Cramer also responded to worries that Citigroup (C) will have to cut the dividend, saying "the stock is reflecting a dividend cut," but the bank is not out of the woods just yet. "A year ago, we could've fixed Citigroup without cutting the dividend, but they just kept buying and buying and buying."

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Stock Recap Dec. 12th

Amback (ABK), Wachovia (WB), Countrywide Financial (CFC), MGIC (MTG), Washington Mutual (WM), Fannie Mae (FNM), Freddie Mac (FRE), Pepsico (PEP), Colgate (CL), Procter and Gamble (PG), Diageo (DEO)
Cramer said the Fed's liquidity strategy is going to make banks suffer more and noted the bad performance of ABK, WB, CFC, MTG, WM, FNM and FRE. He said favorite defensive stocks PEP, CL, PG and DEO were thriving. Cramer called on the Fed to vacate its Ivory Tower and find out what is really going on in the market.
Apple (AAPL), Hewlett-Packard (HPQ), Google (GOOG), Research in Motion (RIMM), Intel (INTC), Nvidia (NVDA), Texas Instruments (TXN), Sigma Designs (SIGM), AT &T (T)
Cramer commented if the Fed had cut half a point, there would be more stocks to recommend, but with a quarter point interest rate reduction, it looks like slim pickings, except for tech. His perennial favorites in the sector: AAPL, HPQ, GOOG, RIMM, INTC, NVDA, TXN are in great shape, Cramer said.
In addition, Cramer singled out Sigma Designs as a play on the decline of cable companies and as comparable services are provided by telephone companies. AT &T announced it is spending $5 billion on its U-verse TV service, and Sigma, which designs the chips for service, will benefit. Analysts raised their price targets after Sigma reported a fantastic quarter, and the company has a high quality problem of not making enough chips to meet demand. Cramer suggests letting SIGM come down a bit before buying.

Jim Cramer's Stop Trading Dec. 13th

The Fed's creation of a temporary term auction facility to help ease the pain felt in the credit markets was "just another stupid thing that they did," Jim Cramer said on CNBC's "Stop Trading!" segment Wednesday.
"The proof is in the pudding," Cramer said. "What's the group that acts the worst today? The group that this is was meant for!" He noted that although Apple (AAPL), Chevron (CVX), Exxon Mobil (XOM) and Google (GOOG) responded well to the market, the financial sector was performing poorly on the news.
"They should have changed the statements to 50 basis points - merry Christmas, do your best," Cramer said. Instead, "Their amount of action ... a day's worth of Washington Mutual's (WM) problems."
Cramer suggested that the Federal Reserve members resign. "You are running some kind of offense that no one understands. ... These guys are really jokers." He cited the Fed's lack of experience in the markets as the source of their ineptitude. "They never sat on the desk," he said. "Go sit on a desk at Merrill Lynch (MER)."

The Federal Reserve announced today that it will mount a joint effort with other central banks to inject billions of dollars of liquidity into the financial system in order to combat the credit crunch. The plan calls for the central bank to conduct four special auctions that will allow banks to bid for the opportunity to borrow directly from the Fed. The first two auctions will take place next week and will be for up to $20 billion each. The amounts of the remaining two auctions will be decided in January 2008.
In other economic news, a report from the Commerce Department showed that the U.S trade deficit widened in October. A reading of the report showed that imports exceeded exports by $57.8 billion, up from a gap of $57.2 b
