Adami recommended getting long General Motors (GM) right here with a specific stop price in mind. Finerman found it strange that Fannie Mae (FNM) went up Wednesday. Crude oil came close to $100 on Wednesday, but fell just short and finished the day at $97.19. Gartman feels the stock market is behaving horribly and he is short names like Harley-Davidson (HOG), Tiffany (TIF) and Coach (COH) and long Microsoft (MSFT)and Apple (AAPL). Gartman's favorite position right now is short Cummins (CMI).
CNBC Pharmaceuticals Reporter Mike Huckman joined the show to discuss his take on big pharma stocks. Huckman explained that Pfizer (PFE) is having issues with safety concerns on a stop smoking drug, falling Lipitor sales and generic competition. Huckman also mentioned that Merck (MRK), Eli Lilly (LLY) and Bristol Myers (BMY) were all down on Wednesday. Finerman likes Johnson & Johnson (JNJ).
Investors tend to sell their biggest losers towards the end of the year to reduce the tax hit they take from their winners. Some of the names at 52-week lows are Citigroup (C), Pfizer (PFE), Merck (MRK), J.C. Penny (JCP), Capital One Financial (COF), Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and AIG (AIG).

CNBC's Fast Money Recap Oct. 26th

Merrill Lynch (MER)- There was speculation on Wall Street that Stan O'Neal will be removed as CEO and Chairman of the Board over the weekend. CNBC's Charlie Gasparino joined the show to discuss O'Neal leaving. Gasparino says rumors are out that Larry Fink the CEO of BlackRock could be named the new Chairman and the CEO position might be split between Greg Flemming and Bob McCann. Najarian said he still would be a buyer of Merrill and that if O'Neal doesn't go, he expects the stock to go down to $55. However, Macke advocates shorting Merrill when O'Neal leaves.
BEA Systems (BEAS)- Carl Icahn has sent a letter to the board of BEA saying its time to come to the negotiating table with Oracle (ORCL). Rumors are that BEA wants $21 share and Oracle offered $17. The offer is set to expire on Sunday.
Microsoft (MSFT) traded up 15% after profits and revenues handily beat Wall Street estimates. Macke remarks that the earnings were great especially from Microsoft and the shorts are getting crushed. Finerman feels the market is very confusing with tech performing well, but many financial stocks doing poorly. Adami prefers Intel (INTC) here and noted that the Citigroup analyst put a $33 price target on the name. Najarian favors Apple (APPL)
Rate Cut- The crew then discussed how next week the Federal Reserve will meet to decide on interest rates and the jobs report will be released. Najarian thinks that the Fed is going to cut rates and that's why the financials flew Friday. He advocates staying with the good sectors like technology and asset mangers and avoid the rest. Macke and Finerman agree that the jobs number will be the best indicator for the economy.
Crude oil hit another record Friday trading above $92. Adami points out how Exxon (XOM) isn't rallying into record oil prices and suggests the company might miss earnings. XOM has a rich valuation and the price action signals that it may move lower. Adami admits that Exxon scares him in front of earnings. He thinks if Exxon reports bad results, it could take the Dow lower. Finerman mentioned that Kirk Kerkorian's Tracinda is looking to buy 16% of Tesoro (TSO).
Procter & Gamble (PG) is also set to report earnings on Tuesday. Procter is one of Macke's favorite trades in front of earnings. Finerman likes Procter as well and Kraft (KFT) which reports earnings on Wednesday. Manitowoc (MTW) is also set to report on Wednesday, which Najarian is partial to.
Quicker than the Ticker- On October 23rd Najarian said buy Vmware (VMW). He nailed the call and the stock has risen 10%. On September 27th Macke recommending buying Yahoo (YHOO). Macke was right and the stock appreciated 20% since his call. On September 20th Adami said buy Microsoft (MSFT). Adami was on the money and Microsoft killed Wall Street's estimates and traded up 11%.
Fast Fire- On October 5th Macke recommending buying Coach (COH). Macke was way off and Coach fell 21% since his call. On October 15th Najarian favored Broadcom (BRCM). He dropped the ball on BRCM and the stock fell 16% after disappointing earnings. On September 12th Adami said he loved Zimmer Holdings (ZMH). Since his call the stock has dropped 15%. Jim Cramer's Stop Trading Oct. 23th

Sell Coach (COH), Jim Cramer said Tuesday on CNBC's Stop Trading! segment.
Cramer said he was wrong with a call last quarter to buy the accessories retailer in the low $40s. That fact came to light Tuesday morning, when Coach issued cautious year-end guidance, sending its shares plunging 13% in furious trading, to $36 and change.
Cramer doesn't like the mortgage insurers either. He'd be selling PMI (PMI) and MGIC (MTG) off yesterday's Lehman Bros. downgrade of the sector.
"They sliced through book value," Cramer said of the mortgage insurance stocks, which were each off 11% in heavy trading Tuesday after similar declines Friday.

CNBC's Fast Money Recap Sept 25th

The crew at Fast Money discussed how retail stocks may be affected by the whipsaws of trading. Najarian pointed at that while stocks were down early, technology names recovered. According to Macke, investors shot first and didn't bother to ask the questions in the retail sector. Finerman feels something else besides fundamentals were at work with regards to the overall market sell off and the selling seen in retail stocks.
Target (TGT), Lowe's (LOW) and Wal-Mart (WMT) traded lower off the poor consumer confidence numbers. Adami thinks Target is worth a trade here.
Christmas Season:
Margret Brennan, CNBC's chief correspondent, thinks consumer electronics and retail accessories like handbags and shoes will be strong again this Christmas. She is looking at Wal-Mart and agrees with Adami on Target for a play on strong consumer electronics demand. Macke recommends Coach (COH). Adami suggests Saks (SKS). Najarian continues to favor athletic apparel maker Under Armour (UA)
Word on the Street
Existing home sales were reported on Tuesday and hit a five-year low. Finerman has concerns that Lennar (LEN) may have write-downs in the future, and that short-term trade is in order at Centex (CTX). Adami: if KB Home (KBH) trades down to a 52-week low on 10 million shares, buy it for a short-term trade. The strike at General Motors (GM) hit its second day on Tuesday as investors grow nervous of a stalemate. Najarian doesn't want to see the strike go more then five days. Adami's idea for an auto trade look is to look for a pullback in BorgWarner (BWA).
Technology Sector
Apple (AAPL) and Google (GOOG) hit new records as technology stocks continued to shine. Najarian says gadget stocks like Garmin (GRMN) and Research In Motion (RIMM) continue to be strong as well.
Chemical and Consumer Sectors:
Najarian: Likes Crocs (CROX), Monsanto (MON) and Digital River (DRIV).
Carter Worth: chief market technician at Oppenheimer, joined the crew to discuss his take on technical analysis in the markets. Says there is strength in materials, energy and industrial stocks, but that strength is being offset by weakness in consumer discretionary and financial stocks.
BHP Billiton (BHP) vs. Wal-Mart (WMT). BHP is killing WMT in performance. The second chart was Schlumberger (SLB) vs. UBS (UBS) and the third was Arcelor Mittal (MT) vs. Toyota (TM). UBS and MT are the out performers in the above three comparisons and BHP has room to go higher.
Pops & Drops
Pops -- ValueClick (VCLK) traded up 13% and Focus Media (FMCN) traded up 19%.
NAVTEQ (NVT) traded up 11%.
Tesoro (TSO) popped 3%. Adami is bearish on the refineries.
USEC (USU) popped 6%.
Drops -- Vonage (VG) plunged 34%
Whirlpool (WHR) fell 5%
Freeport McMoRan (FCX) fell 2%
Face2Face
Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) has fallen considerably from its high of $174. Is this an opportunity to accumulate a larger position, or is ICE's stock price reflecting slower growth? Finerman responds by noting that the exchanges are in play for M&A and this could draw in more investor interest for names like ICE.
Macke was asked his opinion on Chipotle Mexican Grill's (CMG). Macke likes CMG for a trade.
Final Trade
Macke favors eBay (EBAY).
Finerman prefers Comverse Technology (CVMT).
Najarian tells investors to play the online ad space with Digital River (DRIV).
Adami likes USEC (USU)

Jim Cramer's Stop Trading Sept. 5th

Costco (COST): Cramer says every Costco miss “has been a great opportunity” and the same holds true for Wednesday’s 4% drop after the company reported weak same-store sales. He says Costco is a master merchandiser and would buy it while it is cheap. Starbucks (SBUX): On the suggestion lower-end customers are shunning Starbucks, Cramer is skeptical and doesn’t think falling house prices affect the decision to buy a cup of coffee, even if it does cost “$17 or something.”
Coach (COH): Cramer thinks the selloff in Coach is “overdone.”
Google (GOOG) and Apple (APPL): Cramer remains bullish on Google and says wireless strategies are “the elephant in the room.”

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Stock Recap April 17

Adopting a Monster: Gannett (NYSE: GCI - News), Monster Worldwide (NasdaqGS: MNST)
Cramer thinks Gannett should buy MNST as a way to stay relevant since its business isn't "viable long-term anymore." He adds that MNST would be a nice accompaniment to GCI's acquisition, CareerBuilder.com, and the company should hurry to make an offer before Google makes the first move. In either case, the online job listing source is an attractive takeover target and Cramer is bullish on MNST which has has recently had a shortfall, is cheap, and has a new CEO, Sal Iannuzzi, who Cramer thinks is ready "to make a deal." Monster's inclusion in Goldman Sach's list of likely private equity plays is yet another reason to buy.
On the Sunny Side of The Street: First Solar (NasdaqGM: FSLR), MEMC Electronic Materials (NYSE: WFR - News)
Continuing his "Green Day" series, Cramer takes a look at solar energy stocks, and comments he is still 100% behind FSLR, which he recommended in early March and is "the most economically efficient solar company." He also likes WFR which has a "stronghold on silicon wafers, the key components to most solar panels" and is up 247% since October. Since both stocks have increased substantially, he would look for a drop before buying.
DEEP Thoughts: New IPO Superior Offshore International, with stocks Nabors (NYSE: NBR - News), Halliburton (NYSE: HAL - News)
Cramer would take a look at new IPO Superior Offhsore International which is due to go public Friday and will trade under the symbol DEEP. He notes the company has solid earnings and fundamentals and is reasonably priced between $14 to $16. This subsea construction company has competitors, HAL and NBR, but their success has proven that business is good. While DEEP is located mainly in the Gulf of Mexico, it is expanding beyond the region, repairs and maintains current drilling and has years of repair work on the agenda from Hurricane Katrina. Cramer would do homework before buying this "great company" with "real profits" and would make a move no later than Thursday morning.
CEO Interview: Saks (NYSE: SKS - News) CEO Stephen Sadove with stocks Coach (NYSE: COH - News) and Ralph Lauren (NYSE: RL - News)
When asked about the company's turnaround, Stephen Sadove replied that while it is still "early in the game," Saks has benefited from a "great team, clear strategies and clear focus on execution." The company was also successful in encouraging people to own equity and making stores more customer-friendly. Sadove also discussed Saks' new CFO Kevin Willis, calling him "a great asset to the team." Cramer said he is bullish on SKS as well as COH and RL, all of which are buying opportunities because the stocks have "flat-lined."

Jim Cramer's Stop Trading April 16th

HSBC (NYSE: HBC),Wachovia (NYSE: WB ), Washington Mutual (NYSE: WM), and Countrywide (NYSE: CFC): News Saudi investor Maan Abdulwahed Al-Sanea bought a 3% stake in ailing bank HSBC is a "wake up call" for the bears and a signal to take another look at banks. HSBC had been "the most hobbled of the international banks," with its abundant write-offs, bad loans and the subprime crisis. Cramer likens the scenario to prince Alwaleed's massive purchase of Citi in 1991 before the stock rose to 20 fold. Cramer declared "open season" on similar but better banks such as WB, WM and CFC.
Polo Ralph Lauren (NYSE: RL), Coach (NYSE: COH): Cramer applauds RL CEO Roger Farah for his superb handling of sluggish overseas licenses. His "class 'em up" strategy could give Coach a run for its money, and applying Coach's multiple of 30 times earnings to RL would make stock jump to $110 to $115 from $96.50.

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Stock Recap Mar. 26

Biosite (NasdaqGS: BSTE), Cepheid (NasdaqGM: CPHD), Becton Dickinson (NYSE: BDX - News)
Now that BSTE has risen on a takeover bid from Beckman Coulter, Cramer suggests selling and getting into a small diagnostic play which may have a similar story: Cepheid. The Veterans Administration is choosing between CPHD and BDX to provide staph-infection tests in hospitals, and the question isn't who the winner will be, but whether the deal will move the needle. Cramer doesn't think a contract will affect BDX, but will cause CPHD to soar. Also, CPHD is not likely to suffer if it isn't given the contract, may be an attractive takeover bid, and Cramer notes that while the Democrats detest Big Pharma, the diagnostics sector is "hot." He would wait three days and use limit orders when buying CPHD.
Benefit of the Doubt: Coach (NYSE: COH - News) and VF Corp. (NYSE: VFC - News)
"I am a skeptical, cynical, paranoid man," confessed Cramer, but he added, "there are times - when trust will make you more money than distrust." He unveiled his new "Benefit of the Doubt" series during which he will discuss CEOs who are worth trusting even when they "mess up." He mentioned Lew Frankfort, CEO of upscale handbag manufacturer, Coach, who told Cramer in May that COH's missed number was a "one time thing." Those who paid attention doubled their money, said Cramer. Mackey McDonald, CEO of VFC is another name Cramer trusts and he said to use every dip in VFC as a buying opportunity.
New Template: PDL BioPharma Inc. (NasdaqGS: PDLI)
Cramer introduced his new template: "Underperforming management, plus activist, equals money!" He used PDLI as an example, a company which gets millions of dollars in royalties, but “spent it like a drunken sailor." However, Third Point LLC has moved in to acquire 7.5% of the company, or 8 million shares; "Third Point is going to do all the heavy lifting," said Cramer, and will start making money for investors. The stock is estimated to go from $20 to $39 or $59.
Mad Mail: Weatherford International (NYSE: WFT - News), Transocean (NYSE: RIG - News), Quest Diagnostics (NYSE: DGX - News)
Cramer told a viewer he preferred RIG to WFT because RIG has less exposure to Canada. Concerning DGX, Cramer said it has a big buyback and is cheap; "it is a bull stock."

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Stock Recap Jan. 19

Hot IPO: AeroVironment
Cramer says a good way to make money fast is by picking up the next hot IPO which he identifies as AeroVironment, an umanned surveillance aircraft company which is supposed to go public in the next week and to trade under the symbol AVAV. The Pentagon has been "pouring money" into this company whose products have been combat-tested and can be used for border patrol and to reduce casualties during wartime. While AeroVironment has some competition, it is the only company to produce a spy plane that weighs less than a pound. Cramer told viewers not to worry about the effect the Democratic Congress may have on this company, because it has "deep military contracts." Cramer suggests picking up the stock under $20, and discretionary buying until $25, which is a good sell price.
Playing it Safe: Consolidated Edison (NYSE: ED - News) and Southern Co. (NYSE: SO - News)
For conservative investors who want consistency for retirement savings, Cramer suggested ED and SO as bond-replacement stocks. These stocks have high dividends and low risk and can yield the same income as bonds, but with some upside potential. He also recommended these stocks over bonds because their dividends are not taxed as heavily as bond income.
All Ears: Texas Instruments (NYSE: TXN - News), Coach (NYSE: COH - News), United Technologies (NYSE: UTX - News), Norfolk Southern (NYSE: NSC - News), F-5 Netw0rks (NASDAQ: FFIV - News), AT & T (NYSE: T - News), Legg Mason (NYSE: LM - News), Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT - News)
Next week will be one of those weeks during which it will be hard to make money because there will be so many companies reporting there earnings, so Cramer suggested not acting but listening to conference calls. On Monday, Cramer would pay attention to TXN which is the "crystal ball into the world of technology." Although a good quarter might reverse the tech slump, Cramer doubts that it will. Coach's call on Tuesday will give insight into the world of high-end, luxury stocks, and Cramer also suggested checking out UTX's statements. On Wednesday, Cramer would listen to NSC and to FFIV for information about high-growth, high-multiple stocks. Cramer calls AT &T a "terrific company" and on Thursday's call, he would listen to what they have to say about wireless and cost synergies with the closing of their Bell South deal. On Thursday, Cramer is interested to find out if Legg Mason has gotten its act together after the lack of integration of funds they acquired from Smith Barney, and to see what MSFT, one of tech's few sole survivors, has to say about XBox 360, Zune and Vista.
CEO Interview: Steve Ells, Chipotle Mexican Grill (NYSE: CMG - News):
When Cramer asked Steve Ells if CMG could continue its "fabulous" performance, Ells commented that "customers are going crazy" for the restaurants because of their food, service and atmosphere. "We are opening up 95 to 105 new stores because we find great real estate and managers for that number." Responding to Cramer's question about rising food costs, Ells said that he doesn't see an immediate effect; "we're going to keep our eyes on it."

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Stock Recap Jan. 4

The Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO - News) of Today ...
On Wednesday, Cramer discussed his favorite value stocks, and on Thursday, he began his show by discussing Cisco as his 3rd favorite growth stock. While Cisco was a "dead end" for a long time, it is turning around, and its big run shouldn't turn off investors, according to Cramer, because it will "keep running" and has found its niche as a "consumer oriented tech stock." The company has a triple play of phone, video and internet, and Cramer added, "The Cisco of today is not the Cisco of yesterday."

Apple (Other OTC: APPL.PK - News) vs. Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT - News)
Apple was Cramer's No. 2 growth pick, and although it is up 175% in the past couple of years and 50% since July, the stock is not losing momentum because "the winners keep winning." Cramer praises the company for changing the way people listen to music, and he does not think that MSFT's Zune MP3 will overtake Apple. He has confidence in the company's iTV and new phones, and believes that there will be a "tidal wave" of raised estimates since analysts have not yet worked the phone equation into their ratings of the company. The bears who say the iPod may be played out are wrong, says Cramer, since there are so many ways Apple will win.

The Winner: NYSE Group (NYSE: NYX - News)
"If you're comfortable taking a few risks to make more and more mad money, NYX is for you," Cramer said, naming NYSE his favorite growth stock for 2007. Since the company is geared toward making money and is applying cost-cutting strategies such as replacing workers with efficient machines, it will "keep flying" with solid revenue growth. Cramer notes that NYX has the lowest operating costs of all the exchanges and the company has "low, beatable estimates." While shares are down now because of the arbitrage pressure from its Euronext acquisition, Cramer predicts that NYX will reach $240.

Mad Mail: Coach (NYSE: COH - News), Lundin Mining (AMEX: LMC - News), Cyberonics (NASDAQ: CYBX - News)
Cramer suggested holding on to Coach since it is headed up, but added that those who already own the stock should take some off the table. Concerning LMC, Cramer declared a 'mon back and would load up on Lundin. While Cyberonics was at $21.02 on Thursday, Cramer suggested buying it when it dips below $20.
