CNBC's Fast Money Recap Nov. 16th

The Dow finished 66 points into positive territory and the Nasdaq closed up 18 points. The technology sector and retail industry is getting a lot of attention as the holiday season is fast approaching. Technology stocks rebounded Friday after the worst week for the Nasdaq since April 2002. Najarian said this week was not that bad for technology. He highlighted Apple (AAPL), which started the week at $165 and finished the week at $165. Cisco Systems and Oracle (ORCL) both enjoyed a great week as well. Najarian suggested that as soon as Research in Motion (RIMM) hits China the stock will make a huge move.
Jim Goldman joined the show crew to discuss his take on Google entering the wireless space. Goldman says Google (GOOG) is going to make a play for the 700mhz spectrum being auctioned off by the FCC in January. Goldman speculates that this network could be worth $4.5 billion.
Henry Blodget caused speculation on Friday after posting on his blog that Microsoft (MSFT) should buy Yahoo! (YHOO) to gain market share in internet search. Finerman doesn't think the idea is outrageous. Macke also feels that Microsoft has plenty of cash to make the deal.
Hewlett-Packard (HPQ) and GameStop (GME) will report earnings next week. Adami loves Hewlett-Packard, but he is worried that expectations might be too high. The rest of the crew more or less agreed.
Najarian says look at the strong stock performance in companies that sell merchandise at Dick's Sporting Goods (DKS) like Under Armour (UA), Crocs (CROX), Nike (NKE) and Calloway (ELY). Macke agrees and said he would buy Dick's right now.
Wal-Mart (WMT) shines among a weak retail sector after posting a solid quarterly report.
FedEx's (FDX) lowered full-year outlook may be predicting an economic slowdown. Macke says FedEx is a legitimate economic indicator especially for the health of the consumer.
Consumer staples like Coca-Cola (KO), Altria (MO), Colgate (CL) and Procter & Gamble (PG) continue to show strength in a weak market. Adami favors Unilever (UL) at its 52-week high and is cheaper then Procter on valuation. Najarian likes Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) which Warren Buffett owns and Merck (MRK).
Crude oil closed at $95 as traders make another attempt at $100. Adami thinks crude is toppy, but Tesoro (TSO) is worth looking at in the mid-$50's. Najarian would prefer a solar stock play.
Pops & Drops
Pops - Cisco (CSCO) traded up 5% this week after announcing a $10 billion stock buyback.
Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) traded up 2% after the Abu Dhabi government took an 8.1% stake worth $622 million.
Lehman Brothers Holdings (LEH) traded up 7%.
Delta Airlines (DAL) traded up 21% after speculation that a merger with United Airlines (UAUA) could occur.
Corning (GLW) traded up 10% after raising their profit forecast for the fourth-quarter.
Garmin (GRMN) traded up 14%
Sotheby's (BID) traded up 16% after selling $316 million in contemporary art on Wednesday.
Crocs (CROX) traded up 10%
Final Trade
Macke feels positive about Dick's Sporting Goods (DKS).
Adami recommends Lazard (LAZ) for an M&A play.
Finerman would short Hovnanian Enterprises (HOV) because of its high debt levels.
Najarian favors DaVita (DVA)

CNBC's Fast Money Recap Nov. 5th

Citigroup (C) fell 5% Monday after news of more write-downs and CEO Chuck Prince’s departure. Charlie Gasparino joined the show to give his opinion on Citigroup. He thinks that Citigroup didn’t pop on the news of Prince leaving because Chairman Robert Rubin failed to communicate the new Citigroup vision that everyone on Wall Street was looking for. Macke thinks that Citigroup has to clear the deck and bring in somebody new to run the company.
Chartology: Technical analyst John Roque of Natexis Bleichroeder was on the show to give his analysis on the technical signs in the market. Roque still likes the longer term trend line on the S&P moving average. He predicts that the financials will be under performers for a long time. Roque also points out that the trend for oil, silver and gold remains up and if history is a guide that up trend will continue. He is positive about Newmont Mining (NEM) and thinks the stock can trade into the high $80’s.
Ethanol: Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) is set to report earnings on Tuesday. Najarian tells investors to look to at Deere (DE) and Bunge (BG) instead. Adami would rather be in Potash (POT) for an ethanol play.
IAC/InterActive Corp (IACI) announced plans Monday to split up into 5 separate companies. Also, Kraft (KFT) is looking to sell its Post cereal business for $2.8 billion. Finerman is happy with the news. Macke also likes Kraft's plans, but he wasn’t a big fan of IAC/InterActive’s plans to spin off divisions. Najarian thinks that Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) could benefit from a break up.
Technology: Google (GOOG) announces plans to create an open platform, Android, for the mobile phone market. Sun Microsystems (JAVA) falls after hours on lighter then expected revenue numbers. Macke thinks companies like VMware (VMW) and its technology could put JAVA out of business in the future. Dell (DELL) announced plans on Monday to buy virtualization software maker EqualLogic for $1.4 billion. Activision (ATVI) reports a second quarter profit as revenue soars.
Word on the Street: Time Warner (TWX) CEO Richard Parsons will step down on January 1st and be replaced by Chief Operating Officer Jeffrey Bewkes. Finerman likes the retail stocks better than financials. She bought call options on Friday and Monday on Crocs (CROX) and also thinks Under Armour (UA) and Dick’s Sporting Goods (DKS) are interesting here. PetroChina (PTR) topped $1 trillion in market cap surpassing Exxon Mobil (XOM). Adami likes that Chevron (CVX) preformed okay in a lousy tape today.
Pops & Drops
Pops -First Solar (FSLR) traded up 10% after hours on news of a $1 billion module supply contract.
Marvel Entertainment (MVL) traded up 16% on a strong profits report.
Mattel (MAT) traded up 4%
Ballard Power Systems (BLDP) traded up 12%
WellCare Health Plans (WCG) popped 22% on a 67% increase in profits.
Sysco (SYY) traded up 2% after reporting a 16% rise in profits.

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Stock Recap June 11th

Live with Regis: Time Warner (NYSE: TWX), EMC (NYSE: EMC), Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE: ALU)
During Cramer's celebration of his 500th Mad Money program, he received a call from Regis Philbin who congratulated Cramer and asked him to comment on his portfolio. Concerning TWX, Cramer said he is still bullish; "We have to give Dick Parsons the chance to take it to $30" from $20.61. He added EMC is one of the few tech stocks he recommends, but suggested getting rid of ALU which has "hurt a lot of people."
Gaffes of Yesteryear: Dick's Sporting Goods (NYSE: DKS) and Montpelier Re Holdings (NYSE: MRH), Sealy's (NYSE: ZZ)
Recalling some of his errors along with his triumphs, Cramer revisited his recommendation to buy DKS right before its earnings report in August 2005 after which the stock got hammered. "This was an 18% loss overnight, and it doesn't get much worst than that," he said. He learned from this experience that buying before an earnings report may entail after-hours trading during which a stock can get slaughtered by the shorts. Cramer also recommended MRH, an insurance company focused on the Southeast region, as Hurricane Katrina was beginning. The stock was down on news of the impending hurricane, and Cramer thought MRH would have a bounce aftethe storm. However, no one quite understood how destructive Katrina would be, and the stock has yet to recover. In April 2006, Cramer recommended buying IPO Sealy at $18, but it fell to $12 two months later, because it was a "low-quality IPO."
Not the Chocolates: Fannie Mae (NYSE: FNM)
While FNM has increased, Cramer would still buy, because he envisions "tons" of upgrades for this comeback stock. He calls FNM a "money machine" even though it is a "quasigovernment" stock and is a good way to play the Democratic Congress, since the Republicans were doing business with big banks rather than with FNM, "But the Democrats put a stop to that when they took both Houses last November," Cramer said. With government backing, FNM can issue bonds cheaply, and it has a great dividend and a solid insurance business, said Cramer.
Sell Block: Qwest Communications (NYSE: Q), Apple (NasdaqGS: AAPL)
Cramer would get rid of Q because of the unexpected retirement of Richard Notebaert, who was the reason Cramer was bullish on Q. He would sell and buy AAPL, which is down 4 points.

Jim Cramer's Stop Trading June 7th

Dick's Sporting Goods (NYSE: DKS - News): Cramer is bullish on DKS, which is opening 80 new stores and has earnings grwoth "as far as the eye can see." He praises the addition of seasoned retailers Best Buy and Lowe's to the board.
Pepsi (NYSE: PEP - News) and Coke (NYSE: KO - News): Cramer would not interpret PEP's stake in a Ukranian juice company as giving up on America, but as a smart move to continue the company's strong international growth. However, Cramer prefers Coke.
SunTrust (NYSE: STI - News): This $30 billion market cap stock won't remain independent, says Cramer, no matter what happens with its buyback or its stake in Coke.
Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS - News):"Respect the futures" Cramer cautioned and added allocation trades by pension funds are "overwhelming" the market, at least for the time being. He urges restraint in buying now, even good names like GS which have declined 7 points.

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Stock Recap May 18

Isdell Adds Life to Coke (NYSE: KO - News)
Continuing his series on "transformational CEOs," Cramer discussed Neville Isdell who transformed the "has been" company into one that is looking beyond carbonated beverages to new growth opportunities. Under previous management, Coke missed the opportunity to buy Quaker Oats and Gatorade, which was purchased by its nemesis, Pepsi. After losing significant ground, Coke is back, and its last quarter was " a wonder to behold," said Cramer. The company is expanding internationally and Cramer calls Coke Zero a "success story." He thinks this is just the beginning of Coke's comeback.
Related: David Neubert thinks Neville Isdell is overpaid.
Next Week's Game Plan: Game Stop (NYSE: GME - News), Analog Devices (NYSE: ADI - News), Target (NYSE: TGT - News), CA (NYSE: CA - News), Dick's Sporting Goods (NYSE: DKS - News), Under Armour (NYSE: UA - News), Nike (NYSE: NKE - News)
Cramer would buy GME ahead of its Wednesday report, but only if it is down on Monday or Tuesday, and he also suggests buying ADI before its Tuesday report. He would pick up TGT and CA before they report earnings on Wednesday and would buy more TGT after Wednesday. Cramer would invest in UA and NKE before DKS reports on Wednesday.
Risky Delphi (Other OTC: DPHIQ.PK - News)
Although Delphi is bankrupt, trades on pink sheets and is around only $2 a share, three qualities he avoids in any stock, Cramer thinks "this company might have something big going on." First, Cerberus Capital Management and Appaloosa Management are offering Delphi a deal that would help get the company out of bankruptcy and may bring the stock up double. While Highland Capital Management values Delphi even higher, Cramer thinks the first deal is more likely to materialize. The stock is too risky for Cramer, who sees a two down, five up scenario; "but the two down could come first." However, he thinks Delphi may have an interesting story for the risk-takers.

Jim Cramer's Stop Trading May 18

Microsoft (NasdaqGS: MSFT), aQuantive (NasdaqGS: AQNT), Yahoo (NasdaqGS: YHOO): Cramer calls MSFT's bid to buy AQNT at $6 billion a "game changer," and he doesn't see any reason why it wouldn't also buy YHOO for $50 billion. The bid may usher in the beginning of a "land grab against Google." While Cramer wouldn't buy a down company solely because of a potential takeover, he notes YHOO has great traffic and thinks the stock could reach $34 immediately if CEO Terry Semel takes a "permanent vacation."
Verizon (NYSE: VZ), Dicks Sporting Goods, (NYSE: DKS), UnderArmour (NYSE: UA): Cramer wished a good weekend to the Citigroup analyst who upgraded VZ, but added he is "late," and the good news at the company is not new. Cramer predicts DKS' conference call will indicate a comeback for UA which is "done going down."
Baker Hughes (NYSE: BHI), Canetic Resources Trust (NYSE: CNE), Nabors (NYSE: NBR - News), Halliburton (NYSE: HAL), Grant Pridecos (NYSE: GRP), Grey Wolf (AMEX: GW): On BHI's report of rising rig counts, Cramer sees a growth in natural gas drilling which had been "written off," and he would take a look at CNE, NBR, HAL, GRP and even GW.

Jim Cramer's Stop Trading Mar. 7

Take Two Interactive (NasdaqGS: TTWO): Cramer admitted he was getting behind the "most poorly managed company in America" because he believes in Steve Cohen, who wants to take the company over. Although Cramer thinks the company should have been shut down by the feds "a la Enron" he predicts that Steve Cohen is going to bust the shorts and comments Cohen has always worked well independently.
Joy Global (NasdaqGS: JOYG): The entire sector is being overdone on the downside, said Cramer, and although JOYG missed the previous quarter, Cramer notes the company has a strong cash flow.
UnderArmour (NYSE: UA - News), Adidas , Dick's Sporting Goods (NYSE: DKS - News): Lagging marketing expenditures for Adidas and Reebok means an open playing field for UA to move into Dick's Sporting Goods, according to Cramer, who notes that UA hardly got a scratch in the selloff and predicts it is heading into the $50s. Cramer also comments DKS is well-managed.
Ciena Corp (NasdaqGS: CIEN), Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE: ALU - News) and Tellabs (NasdaqGS: TLAB) and Verizon (NYSE: VZ - News): Cramer says CIEN needs a win as Verizon is making its choice. He thinks CIEN has a better chance than ALU and TLAB.
