Hot Stocks to Watch Tuesday

U.S. stocks experienced a roller coaster ride on Monday, after a global sell off was triggered by the collapse of Bear Stearns. The Federal Reserve took emergency action, cutting the discount rate by 25bp and offering to lend to securities dealers at the same rates as banks.
The Dow gained +21.16, while the Nasdaq Composite lost -35.48, and the S&P 500 -11.54.
Here are 7 stocks to watch...
Bear Stearns (NYSE:BSC) agreed to be sold to JPMorgan Chase for $2 per share, or $236 million. BSC shares closed at $30 on Friday, valuing the 85-year old investment bank at $3.5 billion. BSC's Short Term PowerRating is 8.
Many analysts felt the price JPMorgan Chase (NYSE:JPM) is paying significantly undervalues Bear Stearns, even allowing for litigation, de-leveraging and integration costs. Especially since the Fed is providing up to $30 billion in financing for BSC's illiquid assets. The decision means the Fed, not JPMorgan Chase, is carrying substantial risk. JPM's Short Term PowerRating is 3.
MF Global (NYSE:MF) shares fell as much as 80%, despite reassurances from the company that it was not experiencing liquidity problems.
Shares of Lehman Brothers (NYSE:LEH) plunged more than 20%, also on liquidity concerns. LEH is due to report earnings of $0.72 before the market open on Tuesday. LEH's Short Term PowerRating is 6.

Also, in fighting to reduce greenhouse emissions, he has helped his role as governor act as a global leader as well. Doctor William H Foege has done work with Unicef, World Bank, and Rockefeller Foundations to contribute to advancement made in health and various medical fields. Next, Goldman Sachs (GS) gets the financial pick of the day, says Dick Bove. Jim Cramer's Mad Money Stock Recap Oct. 23rd

On Tuesday's show, Cramer began by analyzing another stock that has been put on sale after Friday's drop in the market. Shaw Group (SGR) had the best earnings of the quarter so far. Cramer thinks this is time to back up the truck and load up on the stock. Cramer still likes infrastructure plays like Shaw, and the earnings make it even more attractive.
Cramer then went to the phonelines. The first caller asked about Aecom (ACM), which Cramer recommended a couple of weeks ago. Cramer said it is still one of his favorites. The next caller asked about uranium prices, which Cramer attributed to production problems, and recommended Mosaic (MOS) as a good uranium play.
Next, Cramer discussed another pick he made based on the book "Microtrends," which Cramer has been plugging for about the past week. He found that the number of people working from home is increasing, which he thinks will be profitable for Cisco (CSCO), since its products will be needed to connect people to the office, including offerings from some companies they have bought out over the past few years.
Another caller asked about the tech sector in general, and Cramer said that he is the only person bullish on tech. The next caller asked why Cramer likes Cisco, and Cramer said he thinks it will be up consistently 15% a year.
Am I Diversified?
first caller asked about five stocks: Amgen (AMGN), Under Armour (UA), PetSmart (PETM), Goldman Sachs (GS) and EMC (EMC), the latter two of which Cramer owns for his charitable trust, Action Alerts PLUS. Cramer said, "That is definite, definite diversification." The second caller named these five plays: IBM (IBM), Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMY), Pfizer (PFE), Disney (DIS) Citigroup (C), which Cramer also owns for his charitable trust.
Mad Mail: The first email thanked Cramer for the show he did on October 19, where he gave his 5 rules for investing. The writer thinks that those tips will save him money in the future. The next email asked why Cramer didn't talk about Dry Ships (DRY) when he did his dry bulk shippers segment. Cramer said that it has gone up so much that he had to pass on it. The next writer invited Cramer to his daughter's Bat Mitzvah because the profits from his stock picks are paying for it, and the last email asked what to do with some Hershey (HSY) stock they own, and Cramer said to sell it any time the stock goes up.

CNBC's Fast Money Recap Oct. 9th

Technology
Stocks like Apple (AAPL) and Research In Motion (RIMM) are hitting new highs daily but the semiconductor stocks are not. Carter Worth, chief market technician at Oppenheimer found an incredible divergence with the semis declining by 30% against the S&P 500 tech stocks. Macke agrees and would play this divergence by going long Intel (INTC). Worth also noted that investment banks like Goldman Sachs (GS) were flying, but money central banks like Citigroup (C) were doing nothing.
Super Market
Firms like Coke (KO), Pepsi (PEP), Proctor & Gamble (PG) and Colgate (CL) will get to show investors how good business is. Macke thinks PG is doing the best and also favors Molson Coors (TAP) and Pepsi (PEP). Macke isn't positive on Clorox (CX).
Oil Trade
Oil rebounded back to over $80 on Tuesday and the Oil Services HOLDRs (OIH) followed the commodity to the upside. Seymour: play it by buying oil service companies with exposure to regions like Russia and the Caspian Sea, such as Halliburton (HAL) and Baker-Hughes (BHI). Najarian would avoid the Oil Services HOLDRs because it is over weighted with Schlumberger (SLB).
Word on the StreetMosaic (MOS) reported monster earnings on Tuesday and the stock soared. Najarian points out that there are buyers of the October $90 calls on Monsanto (MON) which operates in the same space as Mosaic.
SABMiller and Molson Coors (
TAP) announced plans to combine U.S. operations in a new firm to be named MillerCoors. Macke suggests they combined so they can go after Anheuser-Busch (BUD), which the hidden winner is Altria (MO), which has a 28% stake in SABMiller. Seymour favors international beverage plays Companhia de Bebidas (ABV) and Fomento (FMX).
Alcoa (AA) falls short of Wall Street's estimates.
Macke warns investors to expect a lot of misses like the one on Tuesday from Childrens Place (
PLCE).
Worth recommends shorting Nordstrom (
JWN), Tiffany (TIF) and Coach (COH).
Pops & Drops
Pops- Yum! Brands (
YUM) traded up 5%
ValueClick (VCLK) traded up 10%
Miramar Mining (MNG) popped 24% after Newmont Mining (NEM) bought the firm for $1.5 billion.
Altair Nanotechnologies (ALTI) exploded higher by 31% after the firm demonstrated its battery pack in an electric car.
California Pizza Kitchen (CPKI) traded up 5%.
Drops- Coach (COH) fell 3% off a bearish Bloomberg report.
Face2Face
Nokia (VCLK): Writer asked does it still have upside potential or should I cut my losses? Najarian: wait till the takeover of NAVTEQ (NVT) is digested, and then it will move higher.
Next writer made a good profit in XM Radio (XMSR), buying in at $8 and $9. Should they sell some XM and then buy some Sirius (SIRI)? Make says yes.
Final Trade
Macke recommends Johnson & Johnson (JNJ).
Worth: short Black & Decker (BDK).
Najarian: Cypress (CY).
Seymour: play international oil services with Integra Group.
Ned Riley, the CEO of Riley Asset Management says stay long PowerShares QQQ Trust (QQQQ).

Stock Market Wrapup Oct. 3rd

Stocks traded off across the board as Wall Street looked to digest service reports and private employment numbers and determine what effect they may have on the Fed's decision whether to cut rates at its next meeting. On the day, gold prices fell, while oil was relatively flat on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The dollar was mixed against other major currencies.
On the economic front, a report delivered by the Institute for Supply Management showed that the service sector expanded at a slower pace in September than in August. The trade group's non-manufacturing index fell in August from 55.8 to 54.8, as expected. A report reading above 50 indicates economic growth, while a figure below 50 signals contraction. The index is now at its lowest levels since March of this year.
In earnings news, sandwich and bakery chain Panera Bread (Nasdaq: PNRA - News) preannounced sales for the third quarter, saying it sees a 35% increase in revenue to $276 million from $205 million the prior year. Same-store sales grew 1.5% for company-owned stores and 0.3% at franchises. The company anticipates EPS to fall within a range of 35-37 cents. Analysts were projecting a third-quarter profit of 34 cents per share. Panera closed up 8% for the day. P.F. Chang's China Bistro (Nasdaq: PFCB - News), meanwhile, warned that it would miss its third-quarter earnings and sales forecasts due to wage pressures, higher capital costs and a fire at a facility. Shares dropped -2.8%.
The third-largest U.S. oil company, ConocoPhillips (NYSE: COP - News), announced that profit from its global refining operations would likely be down significantly from the previous quarter, and added that oil and gas production numbers would be off, as well. The company attributed the decline in output to the seizure of its Venezuelan assets, pipeline damage in the United Kingdom, and planned downtime in other areas. ConocoPhillips is scheduled to report its recently completed third-quarter results on October 24th. Shares of the oil company were off -1.7% at the bell.
Shares of Deutsche Bank (NYSE: DB - News) closed up 1.3% after the company announced that it expects net profit to rise in the third quarter to more than $2 billion, despite sizeable write-downs stemming from the global credit market issues. The company said robust earnings growth in other sectors should help offset the credit-related hits. Germany's biggest bank also reiterated its targets for 2008.
M&A speculation has Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS - News) looking to take over Credit-Based Asset Servicing & Securitization LLC, a struggling subprime mortgage firm, in the coming weeks for approximately $500 million, according to a person familiar with the matter. Goldman, renown for its opportunistic investing abilities, has recently indicated that the end of the subprime lending fiasco may be close at hand and has expressed an interest in the depressed sector.
