Jim Cramer's Mad Money Stock Recap May 28th

"Wind power is the cheapest form of renewable energy out there," Jim Cramer reminded viewers of his "Mad Money" TV show Wednesday.
A longtime bull of the wind power business, Cramer cited a recent report stating that 30% of our nation's energy could be derived by wind power by 2040.
To help illustrate the many great companies involved in the wind power business, Cramer built a windmill from scratch, piece by piece, to show which companies make each component.
First, Cramer featured the wind tower business that makes the support structures for windmills. Here, he reiterated past recommendations of both Trinity Industries (TRN) and Otter Tail (OTTR) as the best stocks to own.
Next, Cramer featured the windmill blades, and said that Owens Corning (OC) has the best composite materials business for this high-stress application.
Cramer then focused on the nacelle, the structure that houses a windmill's turbine. Here, he identified Woodward Governor (WGOV), Thomas & Betts (TNB) and Kaydon (KDN) as the companies to own for turbines, bearings and the other components found in the nacelle.
Finally, Cramer said both MasTec (MTZ) and Thomas & Betts are the best companies for the wind power infrastructure needed to bring power from the mill to the grid.
Cramer placed all seven of these companies into what he called the "Mad Money Wind-ex," his index of wind power stocks. He said with the American Wind Energy Association's annual conference beginning in Houston next week, there should be a lot of buzz surrounding all of these names going forward.

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Stock Recap Aug. 14th

The Skinny on Kraft (NYSE: KFT - News) and Proctor and Gamble (NYSE: PG - News)
After Tuesday's dismal trading day, Cramer believes the Fed will be willing to accept a recession, anything that will beat inflation, "even if even if it means the electric bleachers for my hedge fund and trading fund friends." As expected, Cramer recommended defensive stocks, and especially KFT, which may sell "loser brands" such as Maxwell House, especially since Carl Icahn and Nelson Peltz have a stake in the company. He also thinks PG will jettison brands that aren't working to preserve its capital.

CEO Interview: Timothy Wallace, Trinity Industries (NYSE: TRN - News)
Timothy Wallce doesn't think TRN's steep 20% slide last month is an indication of a longer-term decline for the company, and comments Trinity purchased 20% equity in TRIP Rail Holdings. While Cramer thinks TRN may have a good long-term story, he would be careful since, "the numbers may be too high here."
Treehouse Foods Inc. (NYSE: THS - News) and B & G Foods Inc. (NYSE: BGS - News)
While Kraft and Proctor and Gamble are getting rid of "crummy" brands, THS and BGS are masters of acquiring tired names and giving them new life. Cramer described THS as a risky stock which has been on an acquisition spree, and owns household brands Santa Fe, Del Monte and Oxford. THS' profits have increased 42% year-over-year in the second quarter. B & G's buys neglected brands such as Ortega, Cream Of Wheat and Underwood, is a conservative investment which reported a 12.3% increase in net sales last quarter and is worth owning for the dividend, according to Cramer. He says both companies are "thrice-blessed" because they are recession-proof and consolidate their expenses to reduce raw costs; "We like the dividends, and we like the brands."
The Last Man Standing; The Travelers (NYSE: TRV - News)
In spite of the current environment, Cramer says money can be made from insurance companies which continually invest and are "gigantic cash machines." He would stick with TRV which is the "last man standing" and is ranked 89 in the Fortune 500. He predicts TRV will go higher on the current housing situation.

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Stock Recap April 27th

At Your Laser: Ionatron (NasdaqGM: IOTN)
One stock Cramer likes for the CNBC Million Dollar Portfolio Challenge and even more for an actual speculative play is IOTN which produces lasers. The company makes both lethal and non-lethal lasers which are effective in locating and detonating explosive devices. The stock fell from $14 to $5 last May when it was passed up for a military contract, but IOTN has improved its technology to fit devices on existing vehicles, and Cramer predicts it will get the contract this time around and squeeze the shorts. He would do homework before buying the stock.

A Roll of the Dice: Penn National Gaming Inc. (NasdaqGS: PENN)
Next on Cramer's list of attractive takeover targets for private equity firms is PENN, a gaming company which is not among the most famous names, but gives "regular people all over the country the opportunity to foolishly flush their hard-earned money down the slots." The purchase of Harrah's is proof that private equity firms would consider a gaming play, and since PENN is smaller and cheaper, it would be easier to purchase. He predicts PEN will be taken over at a premium; "I think this one could make you over 30%, if you play your cards right," Cramer said.

Game Plan for the Coming Week: Vulcan Materials (NYSE: VMC - News), Avon (NYSE: AVP - News), Quest (NYSE: Q - News), Procter & Gamble (NYSE: PG - News), Medco Health (NYSE: MHS - News), Wyndham Hotels (NYSE: WYN - News), General Cable (NYSE: BGC - News), Chipotle Mexican Grill (NYSE: CMG - News), Buffalo Wild Wings (NasdaqGS: BWLD), Allergan (NYSE: AGN - News), Transocean (NYSE: RIG - News), Trinity Industries (NYSE: TRN - News), American Railcar (NasdaqGS: ARII), Celgene (NasdaqGS: CELG), Charter Communications (NasdaqGM: CHTR), Level 3 (NasdaqGS: LVLT), Anderson's (NasdaqGS: ANDE), Estee Lauder (NYSE: EL - News), KBR Inc. (NYSE: KBR - News)
Monday: Cramer said the best strategy for the coming week is to grab winners ahead of their reports, and added there are so many great names, it may be hard to choose. On Monday, he likes VMC, up 82% with room to run.
Tuesday: Cramer has freed AVP from permanent residence on his Sell Block segment and predicts AVP will hit a "homerun." The stock is up a little over a dollar and has great BRIC exposure. Although Quest has had a 43% gain, Cramer is still backing it, and anticipates the announcement of a buyback or a dividend increase. He thinks PG will join the ranks of Pepsi and Coke thanks to its international success. MHS is "a member of the pantheon of consistency if there ever was one," since it is leveraged to drugs going generic and off patent. Cramer likes WYN as a baby boomer play and expects rosy numbers. After the bell, GC is a pick Cramer believes will go higher, although it has had a recent run-up. Concerning CMG and BWLD, he said, "I praise these stocks endlessly and correctly. I'm not stopping now."
Wednesday: Although Allergan is up 23% and "everyone is freaking out about competition," Cramer is not worried. He still likes RIG, but since it has risen 11%, Cramer would wait for it to come in a bit. He is also bullish on rail stocks TRN and ARII.
Thursday: Cramer says CELG has been "perking along" up from under $55 in February to over $61 now and predicts it will rally. He would sell CHTR before the quarter and buy it back. He reiterated his bullishness on LVLT and noted its strong organic growth and improved balance sheet. Cramer is looking forward to witnessing a short squeeze when ANDE reports; "We're going into ethanol harvest season. What are these people thinking? Go long, not short." He also likes EL as "the quintessential weak-dollar play."
Friday: Cramer suggests viewers invest in KBR "the only overlooked infrastructure play left on Earth," and says KBR will follow other giants in the sector, which have rallied.
Mad Mail, Cummins Engine (NYSE: CMI - News): Cramer congratulates those viewers who heeded his call to buy CMI and made some money; "We really nailed that one," he said.

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Lightning Round April 25th

Bullish:
Apple (NasdaqGS: AAPL): 'I said, at $85 and change it was anointed. It's up $8....because they indeed blew away the numbers.'Savient Pharmaceuticals (NasdaqGM: SVNT): ' ... still like it as much as I did at the beginning of the year. I like their uric acid product. I'm not backing away.'BioMarin Phramaceutical (NasdaqGM: BMRN):' I know people were disappointed in that last quarter. I think it's a mistake. BMRN is a good biotech stock, and a takeover target.'AT&T (NYSE: T)State Street (NYSE: STT): 'I think that the mutual fund clearing business is a great business, a great way to participate in this rally. STT is a thumb and a half up.'Pozen (NasdaqGM: POZN): 'They get that migraine stuff... I mean, this company... There are so many ways to win.'Nastech Pharmaceutical (NasdaqGM: NSTK): ' ... we identified at $10 and it went to $13.50. I'm going to join you on the buy side there. I think you're in good shape. Buy, buy, buy!'Burger King (NYSE: BKC): ... it's been on fire. BKC is a reformed, better outfit. It's really good ... easily, easily going up to $26-$27.'McDonald's (NYSE: MCD)Parker-Hannifin (NYSE: PH): 'Do not lose heart! That was a beautiful quarter. They will find it ... Even though it's been up a lot in the last year... you say I want some PH, and then you get the stampede. That stock is going to $100.'Tellabs (NasdaqGS: TLAB): 'Quite frankly, I thought the stock should have been single digits after that call ... I smell merger. I smell buyout. I smell takeout. Sit with your TLAB. I think something good is going to happen.'Thermo Fisher Scientific (NYSE: TMO): Have much have we liked TMO?... 52-week-high? No, no. More ahead. $50 goes to $60, TMO!'Trinity Industries (NYSE: TRN):Charter Communications (NasdaqGM: CHTR): 'CHTR's minding its own business, going higher ... CHTR, it reports May 2nd. I like the stock very much.'
Bearish calls:
MetroPCS Communications (NYSE: PCS): 'Let's not be too greedy. That stock has had a run. The other ones haven't. I'd actually be more conservative.'Simon Property Group (NYSE: SPG): 'Let that one come in. The commercial real estate market has had a great run. It's not where I want to be right now.'XM Satellite Radio (NasdaqGS: XMSR): 'No. That's a bleeding contest. That's one of those where you're darned if you do and darned if you don't. The congress won't let these two companies merge.'

Jim Cramer's MadMoney Stock Recap April 24th

The Rail Deal: Koppers (NYSE: KOP), Greenbrier (NYSE: GBX), Trinity Industries (NYSE: TRN), CSX (NYSE: CSX), and Union Pacific (NYSE: UNP)
The rail sector is hot right now, and Cramer suggested finding an "oblique play" like KOP. Although KOP is up 46% since Cramer recommended it, 21 milllion railroad ties will be needed in 2007, and demand is outstripping supply. In addition to producing railroad ties and splitters, KOP is an "impure play" with a chemical business, which is one reason KOP is under the radar while the railroad cycle is on the move. For investors who want a pure rail play, TRN is the largest rail car producer in the U.S. Cramer predicts rail will continue to rise because ethanol requires rail transport, and he adds TRN also makes wind towers. In the past two years, Cramer has seen some "sweet moves" in the sector from CSX and Union Pacific which may be too expensive to buy right now and would purchase some KOP and TRN instead. However, he retracted his recommendation on buying GBX, and said it is not a rail worth owning.

Private Lessons: Darden Restaurants (NYSE: DRI)
Continuing his series of possible private equity takeover targets, Cramer discussed DRI, which owns Red Lobster and the Olive Garden. The company has "massive cash flow" and just enough obstacles, including slow growth, to attract a private equity firm. Cramer predicts DRI could be purchased at a 20% premium, and even if it remains on the shelf, DRI is still good to own because it is a "broken stock" and not a "broken company."
CFO Interview Gary Fayard, Coke (NYSE: KO)
International sales were the cause of KO's blowout quarter, with its emerging market growth in the double-digits and European growth at 11%. Japan is becoming a "critical market" for KO. Fayard explained why there is still time to invest; "We had a great start for the year, but if you look at the market we compete in ... it's growing faster than almost any other consumer area. We still only have 20% share globally. There is still a lot of ways to grow in this industry for us." Cramer said KO should move higher.
